The magnificent Hotel Majestic in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City ranks as one of the best attractions in town. This beautiful French colonial building sits on the Riverfront Ton Duc Thang. It is at the corner of Dong Khoi, one of the most prestigious streets in town. It opened its doors to the public in 1925 and has been looking after its clientele ever since.
Affording fantastic views of the Saigon River it rewards passengers on the cruise boats in return. They get awesome views of its classical design, with arches and columns adorning its facade. It really does command arguably the finest location saigon. I suppose this is befitting of one of the most iconic buildings in the whole of Ho Chi Minh City.
A Place in History for the Hotel Majestic
The Hotel Majestic comprises 175 guest rooms all well designed and superbly decorated. A throwback to the age of luxury travel. In the early 10950s Graham Greene lived here. Indeed he wrote his epic anti-war story, “The Quiet American.” The sense of history here is palpable. One can almost feel him seated at the bar, or imagine him in his room, at his typewriter.
The restaurant has 6 restaurants and bars. These include its lovely Breeze Sky Bar. As fine a place as any in the city in which to sit and watch the sun go down. This is one of the top hotels in Saigon and is well loved and revered by the locals. Other facilities include: a 24-hour front desk, express check-in/check-out, luggage storage and of course, room service. MICE facilities are ample with meeting/banquet rooms and a business centre. Everyday services like dry cleaning, barber/beauty shop, ironing service, and currency exchange are also all here. If you require souvenirs or a shoeshine, car hire or a tour booking, it will all be taken care of.
The city has many French Colonial Buildings, they are superbly designed and built, the Hotel Majestic is one of the very best of them.
